According to a 2005 survey, 53% of farmworkers are undocumented (without legal authorization), 25% are United States citizens, and 21% are legal permanent residents.
Melinda celebrates 15 years as Executive Director with SAF! Laxmi turns 10 with SAF!
Fifteen years ago this fall, Melinda Wiggins took on the position of Executive Director with SAF. Ten years ago, Laxmi Haynes was promoted from being an Into the Fields intern to a temporary position as SAF’s documentary consultant and then into a full-time position coordinating the internship. We’ve been so fortunate to have these two dedicated, amazing, powerful, and loving women who have contributed so much of their creative energies and passion to develop SAF into a powerful organization for farmworker justice.
