International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Communications Specialist

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers is looking for a communications specialist to write monthly newspaper articles, produce web content, assist with media outreach and strategic, digital and social media communications. 


A bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 five years of experience in journalism and social media are required. Labor movement and social justice background helpful. You have intimate knowledge of the AP style guide, are particular about accuracy, grammar and proofreading. You have an ability to stay cool when things get hot, you can juggle multiple projects with minimal supervision and you can churn out content fast. We work under daily as well as monthly – sometimes hourly – deadlines. You are a fast learner; we are a diverse organization with a wide variety of industries, politics and personalities as well as internal protocols. A sense of humor is a strong asset.
