Paralegal with Legal Aid of North Carolina Farmworker Unit

The primary function of organizational unit is to support Extension programs in Agriculture, Natural resources, and Community and Rural Development. Our primary responsibility is to assist Extension Professionals in developing and conducting successful programs that are viable, visible, and relevant to existing and emerging needs.

Democracy Summer is an innovative internship program that exposes young leaders to new ideas and political movements, teaching them how to organize people around a shared vision for a better democracy in our state. The program also equips young people with lifelong skills that they can use to work for positive social change in their communities.  2020 is a crucial election year, we will need the strongest interns to push for an all-time high in voter turnout for this 21st year of the program.

The North Carolina Summer Policy Institute (NCSPI) brings together students from across the state to participate in a multi-day exploration of North Carolina’s top policy issues through a combination of seminars, panel discussions, and workshops. During this engaging experience, the students will gain a broader understanding of the tools needed to contribute to the policy process. Through networking with their peers, local policy experts, and state officials, we aim for NCSPI to be the cornerstone in preparing students to become North Carolina’s future movement makers.

The North Carolina Office of Recovery and Resiliency (NCORR) is excited to announce that we are seeking qualified candidates to fill (6) Applicant Services Liaison positons.

NC FIELD is a non-profit community-based organization working to educate the public and be of service to agricultural workers and their families. We provide direct services and advocacy to youth (Poder Juvenil Campesino/Rural Youth Power) to give them the support they need to graduate high school and access higher education. We also implement service-learning and internships for youth as an alternative to agricultural labor during the summer months.

ACE is currently recruiting high school students for our 2020 ACE Action Fellowship in Charlotte, the Triangle, and Southeastern NC. The Fellowship engages and supports young, emerging leaders from a variety of backgrounds, skills, and interests who demonstrate a budding passion for climate issues and want to make a positive impact in their community. Participants in our program do NOT need to be top academic performers. It is, however, a great experience to put on resumes and college applications! 

The position will be responsible for developing the organization’s annual training plan and designing training and professional development for staff in a variety of disciplines, from health to early childhood to technology. This position will also support subject matter experts and other staff in developing their own training skills and knowledge of principles of adult learning. ECMHSP has a staff of approximately 900 working in 7 states in 37 Migrant and Seasonal Head Start centers and several administrative offices. 

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Case Manager for Project Fight, located in Raleigh, NC.

Job Summary

The UNC FMSA accepts graduating high school students and first-year college students between the ages of 18-20 from rural areas of North Carolina who are interested in a career in medicine and a passion for rural service.  

Scholars come to Chapel Hill during the summer for a two-and-a-half day immersion in family medicine while they stay on the UNC-CH campus.
