Background

The Farmworker Unit of Legal Aid of North Carolina, Inc. provides civil legal assistance, primarily in matters concerning employment law, to low-income migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their families throughout North Carolina from its office in Raleigh.

The North Carolina Justice Center is seeking a Leslie J. Winner Public Interest and Civil Rights Fellow. The Winner Fellowship provides the opportunity for a recent law school graduate to spend two years as a staff attorney at the North Carolina Justice Center – the state’s leading private, nonprofit, anti-poverty organization. The Fellowship is generously funded by the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation in honor of Leslie Winner, who has been a champion for the people of North Carolina.

Job Details  We are hiring for a variety of temporary jobs, including census takers, recruiting assistants, office staff, and supervisory staff. To be eligible, you must be at least 18 years old, have a valid Social Security number, and be a U.S. citizen.

CATA – The Farmworkers’ Support Committee is seeking a part-time Community Organizer at 15-20 hours/week. The Community Organizer will primarily focus on base-building with immigrant workers throughout Chester County, PA and will also oversee two projects designed to evaluate conditions within the mushroom industry as well as build community awareness and ability to respond to immigration enforcement. The ideal candidate will speak excellent Spanish and English and have experience in organizing for social change.

UNC-TV’s National and Independent Productions division seeks a digitally savvy, marketing-minded, documentary-enthusiast to work with our growing team. The Engagement Coordinator will play a critical role in partnership cultivation and audience development across a dozen+ non-fiction television programs in multiple genres (arts, culture, food, history) including our documentary strand REEL SOUTH. This is an independent contractor position. There will be some required meetings at UNC-TV in Research Triangle Park but hours and work location are flexible.
 

Durham Co-op Market is looking for two special people to join our team. 

Purpose: Responsible for managing daily operations of the center; ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures of ECMHSP, Head Start Performance Standards (45-CFR 1304), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)/Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Ensures that center is making progress towards ECMHSP, Regional, and center goals and objectives.
